I’ve been told that ECUA Board Member Dale Perkins and George Scarborough, the brother of MSNBC host and former Congressman Joe Scarborough, are considering running for the seat held by the late Clay Ford.
Scarborough ran unsuccessfully against Ford in the GOP primary when the seat became open after Holly Benson resigned. Scarborough was considered the favorite until the week before the election when Ford sent a mailer attacking his brother Joe for resigning mid-term from Congress in 2001. Since then, George has built a successful career in business development and marketing with the Studer Group. He has the name recognition to be contender.
