Buzz: Peaden/Evers will derail consolidation

Latest political gossip: The fix is in to stop the efforts to have the state legislature pass bill for the formation of a consolidation commission. Two of our Okaloosa lawmakers have figured out how to derail the process. State Rep. Greg Evers (R-Baker) will get the State House to pass a bill for the commission. State Sen. Durell Peaden (R-Crestview) will get the State Senate to pass a different version of the bill. This will force the commission bill to go to a House/Senate conference committee where it will die.

Evers and Peaden will both claim that they did their best to get it passed.
