Buzz: PNJ paywall goes up August 1

PNJ publisher Kevin Doyle has announced, according to blog post by his reporter Nate Monroe, that readers who want to go digital-only for the daily (pnj.com) will soon pay $10 a month for the service. Certain content on PNJ.com will remain available to non-subscribers, who will be able to access a determined number of stories before they will have to pay. Subscribers to the print version of the daily newspaper will receive full access to www.pnj.com, the e-Newspaper, mobile and tablet sites and smartphone apps.

The paywall goes up August 1. We are also hearing that a surcharge will be added to the print subscriptions at renewal to include the digital access, but that wasn’t posted on Monroe’s blog.
