TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Department of Health released updated numbers Monday morning about the coronavirus in the state. Here are some takeaways:

— 26,660: Total number of cases. Escambia 314; Santa Rosa 140

— 346: Increase in cases from a Sunday night count. Escambia 5; Santa Rosa 2

— 789: Deaths of Florida residents. Escambia 8; Santa Rosa 6

— 15: Increase in deaths from a Sunday night count, with deaths involving people who tested positive in Broward, Miami-Dade, Indian River and Sarasota counties. Escambia 0; Santa Rosa 0

— 1,853: Cases involving residents or staff members of long-term care facilities. Escambia 65; Santa Rosa 10

— 187: Deaths involving residents or staff members of long-term care facilities. Escambia 6; Santa Rosa 0

— 23.7: Percentage of deaths involving residents or staff members of long-term care facilities. Escambia 75%; Santa Rosa 0

— 30.2: Percentage of overall deaths involving people ages 75 to 84.

— 27.9: Percentage of overall deaths involving people 85 or older.

— 24.6: Percentage of overall deaths involving people ages 65 to 74.

— 10.6: Percentage of overall deaths involving people ages 55 to 64.

— 6.7: Percentage of overall deaths involving people under 55.

Summit Boulevard Recycling Site Closing April 30

The City of Pensacola will close the Summit Boulevard recycling site by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 30.

The decision to close the Summit Boulevard recycling site is due to the overwhelming amount of illegal dumping at the site.
