From The News Service of Florida: Data posted online by the state Department of Health showed that 725 Florida resident deaths had been linked to COVID-19 in a little more than the first month of 2024. Here are counties with the most deaths:

— Broward County: 44 – 2.27 per 100,000

— Pinellas County: 40 – 4.17 per 100,000

— Brevard County: 35 – 5.73 per 100,000

— Hillsborough County: 30 – 2.04 per 100,000

— Volusia County: 30 – 5.37 per 100,000

— Orange County: 27 – 1.89 per 100,000

— Lee County: 23 – 2.98 per 100,000

— Sarasota County: 22 – 5.01 per 100,000

— Duval County: 21 – 2.11 per 100,000
