By the numbers: Third-grade scores by county

Note: Santa Rosa (tied for fifth) and Okaloosa (tied for sixth) are in the top 10 counties.Escambia tied for 36th out of 67 counties.

Escambia County scores dropped by 3 points from 2019, which is a less than Santa Rosa County that saw a 6 point drop. From 2015-2021, Escambia scores improved 5 points, Santa Rosa declined 2 points.

The Florida Department of Education on Tuesday released a report showing that 54 percent of third-grade students this year scored “satisfactory” or above on the state English-language arts exam. Here are percentages of students in each county that scored “satisfactory” or above:
