Carnival Cruises pulls out of Mobile

Last decade, cruise ships were seen as possible salvation for the Port of Pensacola. Of course, the City could get its act together and Mobile landed Carnival. Now the cruise line has announced it is pulling out of Mobile in October due to fuel costs and an inability to raise prices for its voyages from Mobile. The Press Register reports the departure leaves a $2.25 million budget hole in its wake. Read more.
