Century has high hopes for Project Tread

NorthEscambia.com has an exclusive on the Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s Project Tread:
“Century Mayor Freddie McCall said the Town of Century, the Century Chamber of Commerce and the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce have worked to lure the company “from up north” to relocate to a 15-acre parcel in the Century Industrial Park.” The project will bring 40-60 jobs to the town on the northern board of Escambia County.

Let’s hope Century can move faster that the Pensacola City Council, its CRA and Thaddeus Cohen. The council approved two years ago Project Press (which we now know is Hixardt) but still hasn’t closed the deal. As we know, things move slow whenever Pensacola city government is involved or, at least, it did before Mayor Ashton Hayward.

Mayor Hayward tried to get the Hixardt deal back on track in June, but three months later the CRA/Council, Chamber and Hixardt haven’t closed it.
