Cha-ching: Salzman raises $113K, but left with only $13.5K pocket money for Q2

State Rep. Michelle Salzman has no opposition in her re-election bid next. However, that didn’t stop her from raising a record-setting $112,995 for the second quarter of 2025.

  • However, as has been her pattern for years, the Cantonment Republican spent most of it ($99,405), leaving her campaign and two political action committees, Committee to Protect Northwest Florida and Friends of Michelle Salzman, with a net of only $13,590 for the quarter.

Salzman ‘s spending habits have attracted attention since she first ran for the House 1 seat. In July, we reported her PAC, Committee to Protect Northwest Florida, had raised $66,000 since the November 2024 general election and spent $122,116 . Her new PAC, Friends of Michelle Salzman has raised $37,950 and spent $15,119.  Her 2026 campaign has raised $29,779 and spent $19,033.  In eight months, Salzman has spent $156,268, without having an opponent.

In the 2024 race, Salzman’s campaign spent $157,911, almost as much as she has spent in the first seven months of the current cycle. The “conservative” Republican spent $2.69 for every vote she received in 2024.

  • Meanwhile, Democrat Mathis spent only $6,397, an average of 21 cents per vote.
