Press Release: It can be difficult for businesses to fully recover after a natural disaster strikes. In an effort to help local businesses prepare for natural disasters, the Greater Pensacola Chamber will host a seminar to discuss ways to develop a detailed disaster preparedness and continuity plan.
Attendees will learn what to expect from federal and state agencies in the event of a disaster, and available resources, such as counseling and bridge loans, before and after a disaster. Participants will also learn three essential elements to continuing to operate their business in the event that a disaster occurs.
“We want to help ensure our local businesses have the resources they need to continue operating following a disaster,†said Clay Ingram, President & CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber. “Our partnership with the Small Business Development Center allows us to provide the proper education and tools in preparing the business community for continuity and recovery.â€
The seminar – which will be presented by Dan Cavanaugh, manager of the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida – will take place on Thursday, June 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Greater Pensacola Chamber, 117 W. Garden St. The workshop is open to the business community at no charge. Seating for this event is limited; click here to register and reserve your spot. Attendees should bring a calculator.
