House Bill 843, the bill widely referred to as “Charlotte’s Web,†this morning passed its first committee of reference in the Florida House of Representatives. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Matt Gaetz and Rep. Katie Edwards, passed the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee by a 11-1 vote. Rep. Gayle Harrell was the only dissenting vote.

The bill will still need to pass the House Judiciary and the House Appropriations committees before it heads to the House floor for a vote.
