Childers did not submit Form 6 receipt

Attorney Bruce Childers claims in a Facebook post that he “filed a receipt, or summary page of our Form 6, the financial disclosure form, which included the ‘watermark’ (an opaque image which is added upon the completion of electronic filing).”

We made a public record request for the Supervisor of Elections office. Childers submitted what appears to be a photo of the completed first page of the four-page Form 6. The page looks to be on a computer or tablet screen. There is no ‘watermark,’ only the words “For Qualifying Purposes Only.”

There is no signature page. Clerk of Court Pam Childers should have been familiar with the verification or electronic receipt for Form 6. Both should have read the law and understood that Bruce needed to submit all four pages.

The SOE office does have a qualifying checklist for candidates. It shows the initials “SMD” and “KS” by “2023 Electronic Form Receipt Filed.” We do not know what conversation transpired between the Childers and SOE staff.

Childers hand-delivered a completed form to the SOE office at 3:17 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18.
