In a series of workshops next week, the Pensacola City Council will dive into the Fiscal Year 2013 Proposed Budget.
Mayor Ashton Hayward delivered his proposed budget to the city council in June. The $221 million budget comes in $600,000 below the previous year’s budget. It is also balanced.
The city council may make amendments to the budget via a majority vote. Any proposed changes, however, must leave the budget balanced.
The workshops are scheduled for July 23-25, beginning at 9 a.m. each morning. The all-day sessions will include presentations from city departments. The final day, Wednesday, is listed as ‘if necessary.’
The July 23 workshop will include presentations from the chief financial officer, human resources department, the director of ESP, the director of the Port of Pensacola, the housing administrator, the airport director, the neighborhood services department and the library administrator.
The July 24 workshop will include presentations from the CRA administrator, the Inspections Services administrator, the Planning administrator, as well as the police chief and fire chief.
At the end of each day, the workshops will feature an open forum. All three workshops will be held in the Hagler Mason Conference Room on the second floor of Pensacola City Hall.
