City Cubed Art project on Saturday

The City of Pensacola is excited to announce a partnership with the Pensacola Museum of Art to bring a CUBED art installation to City Hall, featuring an opportunity to watch live mural paintings by talented local artists this weekend.

The public is invited to watch live mural paintings at City Hall and Museum Plaza on Saturday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City of Pensacola’s Cultural Affairs program is teaming up with PMA to add this satellite component to the popular CUBED installation, which is located behind the Pensacola Museum of History at Museum Plaza, 300 S. Tarragona St. In addition to the live painting of two cubes at the plaza by eight talented artists, this is the first time downtown visitors can see the work of even more artists at a third cube hosted at City Hall.

CUBED is a yearly live mural painting event that invites talented local artists to paint live on three-dimensional 8’x8′ cubes in the heart of downtown. Artists were reviewed and selected by the PMA through a Call For Artist process.

CUBED @ City Hall will feature art from local professional and student artists including Nell Arnett, Lindsey Hampton & Sean Bush, Tianna Kuwica & Caroline Holland, and Angelica Tilton. Art themes at the city cube will range from natural flora and fauna, mental health and more, featuring techniques and mediums of painting, spray, and wheat pasting.

This temporary art installation will be located in John Sunday, Jr. Plaza on the north side of City Hall, located at 222 W. Main St.
