City District 6 voting at record-setting pace

The District 6 race that has Allison Patton challenging incumbent Ann Hill may break the record for the most votes in a single-member district race in Pensacola’s history.

The record is 4,797 votes cast in the 2008 District 4 race that pitted incumbent Marty Donovan against former councilman Rhett Anderson and Larry B. Johnson. Johnson later defeated Donovan in a run-off.

In second place is the 2008 District 3 race in which Maren Deweese defeated incumbent Mike DeSorbo. There are 4,761 votes cast in that race and Deweese won by 341 votes.

In third place is the 2020 District 1 contest between incumbent P.C. Wu and Jennifer Brahier with 4,683 votes cast. Brahier beat Wu by three votes.
