City has huge tree fund

Pensacola City Council will be considering a tree ordinance. The Home Builders Association of West Florida is questioning the proposed mitigation fees. Under the new system, the new Hancock Bank site at 12th Avenue and Summit Blvd saw its tree mitigation fees jump from $24,500 to $98,500.

The Tree Trust Fund had $735,723.23 as of April 28, 2008. In fiscal years 2006 and 2007, no expenditures were made from the fund. Only $33,985 has been spent this year.

City has huge fund with obviously no plan on to use it.
