City hires big name

The City of Pensacola has landed Thaddeus Cohen as its next Community Development Director. Cohen had been the head of the State’s Department Of Community Affairs. He was appointed to that post by Gov. Jeb Bush in 2004.

Cohen is an established architect and urban designer with more than 30 years of experience. Prior to being DCA head, he was president of Thaddeus Cohen Architect, P.A., based in Palm Beach County.

Cohen is the past chairman of the Council for Black Economic Development of Broward County, past chairman of the Commission on Affordable Housing for Palm Beach County and a former member of the board of directors of the Broward Alliance.
