At approximately 3:40 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Pensacola International Airport experienced a break in a water line that feeds the terminal fire sprinkler system. The pipe located in the ceiling, flooded areas of the concourse between Gates 3 – 6.
Airport staff responded immediately ensuring customer safety. This event took place during a lull in flight schedules with only a few flights being delayed approximately 20 minutes. No flights were cancelled. Repairs to remediate the area are in process and all flights are on schedule.

Good press release, very informative. The citizens need to know was the problem a design or maintenance issue. What is the city’s checklist for freezes? Did the airport personnel follow their procedures?
When I contacted the county about the Tyron Library, they explained the issue with its water supply was due to failing to cover a section of the piping. The county was not familiar with the building of which they had only recently taken control.
