The Pensacola City Council’s agenda for Thursday, July 15 has been released. The council will  consider  whether to annex two vacant lots on Pace Boulevard at the western entrance to the Baptist Hospital campus that the sold to AMR At Pensacola, Inc. (AMR) in May. The annexation will make it possible for the nonprofit to build the city’s first Tiny Houses community.
Founded by attorney Jim Reeves, AMR wants to launch The Phoenix Project that will develop 14 Tiny House communities that will have approximately 12 homes each. According to the website, “these new communities are being established to provide sustainable and safe housing solutions for individuals who are financially, socially, or institutionally disadvantaged.”
AMR at Pensacola, INC. (AMR) is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit organization and state certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). As one of Escambia County’s largest non-profit affordable housing organizations, AMR has been involved in the development, preservation, and management of affordable housing throughout the County since 1989.
