My book ‘City of Grudges‘ is placed in Pensacola and uses many local restaurants – past and present – as settings for the action. We want to do a photo scavenger hunt with the prize being a $50 gift certificate to The Fish House.
The rules are simple.
1. We will give you a clue on Friday mornings.
2. Find the place and take a photo with your phone – you can choose to be in the photo or not.
3. Post the photo on Instagram, Facebook or both. Tag @routzen and @cityofgrudges.
4. For each correct answer, you will be entered into a drawing that will be done live at 7:02 a.m. on Monday, August 1 on WCOA’s “Real News with Rick Outzen.”
First Clue: This was one of Pensacola’s first black-owned restaurants and was named for the owners’ wives, Hattie and Ola. Originally it was a grocery store with a lunch counter and poolroom in the back. A popular hangout in the all-black Eastside neighborhood known for good soul food, it was once listed in USA Today’s “Top 10 Iconic Soul Food Joints.”
“City of Grudges” can be found at Bodacious Books, The Fish House Gift Shop and Amazon.
