City streets facing flooding – updates

From Pensacola Police:

Numerous streets throughout city limits are currently experiencing localized flooding because of heavy rain.

In particular, locations include Guillemard and Gonzalez streets and areas along Ninth Avenue such as Ninth and Strong, College/Airport and Ninth, and Ninth Avenue and Romana Street.
Seventeenth Avenue at the trestle is subject to flooding if additional heavy rains fall. The area was impassable earlier this morning and one vehicle was stuck in the water.

Barricades are being put into place in various locations. Motorists are encouraged to drive alternate routes to avoid known problem areas until the flood waters have receded, and are reminded not to drive through standing water.

From Gulf Breeze Police:

Flooding on Highway 98 westbound from 600 to 300 blocks, eastbound 800 block. Also Daniel Drive behind football stadium. Drive with caution.

Road closure at Nightingales by Methodist Church.

AT 8:45 AM – Pensacola Police:

At the present time, all roads within city limits are currently passable and are not experiencing major problems caused by recent heavy rains.

Motorists are advised to continue to use caution throughout the day, and traffic advisories will be issued as necessary.
