CMPA, Community wins

Community Maritime Park Associates (CMPA) board approved the master developer request for proposal and hired a search firm to do a national search for an executive director. Those who worried about insider deals – it isn’t happening. This board is doing it right.

1. Master developers must show how they will implement the CMPA covenant with the community and have minority contractor participation.
2. Any firm working on the design specifications of the part is prohibited from working for private companies wanting to build at the park – unless they make a request of the board and demonstrate a need. This is the issue the daily newspaper reported last month.
3. Executive director will most likely be from outside the area.

Kudos to Judge Lacey Collier, the chairman, and his fellow board members. Every board meeting they disprove the misstatements made by the Save Our City crowd.
