We are getting word the Community Maritime Park Associates Board meeting is more hectic than usual. I’m piecing this together from several phone calls and text messages of those at the meeting.
Judge Collier tried to delay any decision on the master developer until the board had more time to study recommendations from the consultant. That got sidetracked when Scott Davidson of Land Capital stood up and said he was willing to agree to do the park for $50 million and would put $3 million of his own money into the project and $250K into the contract academy. John Merting then made a motion to give it to Land Capital.
Board member Katie White then spoke up and said she favored Trinity.
An effort to delay the vote in favor of a new RFP for a project manager didn’t get much traction.
They have recessed to regroup. Looks like the board is more ready to move that its chairman.
