Commission D2 debate tomorrow in Perdido

The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the League of Women Voters, will be bringing all three candidates running for the Escambia County Commission for District 2. These candidates include, Doug Underhill (R), Scott Trotter (D), and Alan McMillan (R).

The non-partisan community forum will focus on the issues that are of most concern to the residents and business owners surrounding the Perdido Area. The Perdido forum comes just one month away from the Primary election day on August 28. 2018. The residents of District 2 have had the opportunity to hear the candidates’ debate earlier this month at other events, this event however, will be focused on a few main subject matters pertaining to regulation on Perdido Key.

The following are the main subject matters to be discussed:

-The Perdido Key Conservation Plan
-Multi-Use Bike Path
-County versus State Road Swap for Perdido Key Drive
-Public Safety on the Key
-Underground Utilities
-Public Beach Access

The ‘Meet the Candidates’ event will be held at Jim C Bailey Middle School located at 4110 Bauer Road. All media is welcome and highly encouraged to attend. The doors will be open for media at 5:00 pm and will officially open for the public at 5:45 pm, the program will begin at 6:00 pm
