Community Health offers antiviral treatment and more

Here is the information Community Health Northwest Florida CEP Chandra Smiley discussed on WCOA’s “Real News with Rick Outzen” this morning:

Antiviral Program:

Community Health was selected to be part of the first cohort (200 Health Centers) to receive these medications.

This comes as part of the Administration’s efforts to ensure that underserved communities and those disproportionately affected by COVID-19 have access to authorized and approved treatments.

Based on our patient base of 55,000 + patients our bi-weekly ordering cap will be 100 Pfizer and 400 Merck treatments.  Our Pfizer order last week was reduced from 80 to 40 treatments.

Our Process for dispensing:

Prescriptions can be filled at any of our pharmacy locations.

2315 West Jackson Street – Pensacola

14 West Jordan Street Suite 1K – Pensacola

4350 Bayou Blvd Suite 5 – Pensacola

6671 Caroline Street – Milton

Patients will need a prescription and to have a positive COVID test, meet the criteria (high risk for hospitalization due to chronic health issues) and be able to start the treatment within five days of testing positive.

We are held to Federal Reporting requirements and will need to collect demographic information on patients.

These medications will be at no cost to the patient.

COVID Vaccine Update:
We will hold another Family Vaccine Clinic at Brownsville on Saturday, January 29th from 9 am – 1 pm, 180 of 300 appointments have already been booked. This event will be a Family vaccination clinic for ages 5 and up with boosters available for ages 12 and up.

Federal N95 Masks Supply Program:
Order placed last week for 2 pallets of N95 masks (5,000 masks per pallet) from HRSA that will be delivered this week.  This is a new federal program which provides N95 masks to Health Centers nationwide for use by patients, staff and handed out to the community and community partners.
