The announcement that headliner Linkin Park had to pull out of the DeLuna Fest hasn’t hurt ticket sales. In fact, the community appears to be rallying around its biggest outdoor music festival. Tickets sales have been brisk this morning. More tickets were sold before 10 a.m. than any morning to date — this year or last year.
There is always an element in greater Pensacola that derives pleasure from bashing others. DeLuna Fest is an event that can grow and become an entertainment and tourist draw for the fall. We need to support it. Our paper has interviewed much of the line-up. There are some great, up-and-coming bands on the schedule. In 2007, our Hawkshaw Music Festival had a little-known band from Georgia as headliner. You may have heard of them – Zac Brown Band. Deluna Fest has that caliber of talent in its line-up.
The time for bashing is over. It’s time to help grow this event. Buy a ticket and come out.
Hell, skip the fair and make this your October treat.
