The Escambia County School Board accepted the superintendent’s recommendation to give the alternative school programs for Camelot and pay the Pennsylvania-based company $1,847,329 to run it. Camelot will lease the space that is currently being used for the ESEAL program (401 Brigadier St.). According to the contract, the company, which is a Delaware corporation whose principal office is in Dripping Springs, Texas, will take care of 200 students ( which average out to $9,236 per student).
Camelot will paid an initial start-up payment of $307,888.10 and ten monthly payments of $153,944.09.
Camelot will hire 14 classroom instructors, 1 social worker, 3 administrators, 1 admin. assistant, 1 maintenance worker and for behavioral support staff – Total salaries, plus benefits: $1,184.590
