Concert at the Maritime Park

The Listen Local concert series continues tomorrow at the Community Maritime Park. Here’s a press release from the city of Pensacola:

Bring the family down to Pensacola’s Community Maritime Park and kick off your July 4th weekend a little early with a free Listen Local concert presented by Honest Tea! The Listen Local summer concert series is returning for four straight Wednesday evenings in July with the biggest show yet this Wednesday, July 3.

The free benefit concert series showcases talented local musicians from Pensacola and the surrounding area while offering a fun way to support a different local charitable organization at each event. The featured charity at the July 3 concert is ARC Gateway, an organization which seeks to provide the best possible life experiences to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Wednesday’s concert, presented by Honest Tea, will feature Della Country beginning at 7:00 PM at the Randall K. and Martha A. Hunter Amphiteater, overlooking beautiful Pensacola Bay. The free, family-friendly event will include fun activities for kids, including a 16-foot inflatable water slide and visits by the Cat Country Cat and Captain America. Free, convenient parking will be available on the grass near the amphitheater and throughout the park. No pets or glass containers are allowed, but blankets, chairs and coolers are welcome.

This week’s event is the first of four “Listen Local” concerts happening each Wednesday for four straight weeks in July, including July 3, July 10, July 17, and July 24. Moe’s Southwest Grill will be on hand with its fresh and tasty favorites at the July 10 concert, which will feature the Ralph Chapman Band and support United Cerebral Palsy. The Upstarts will headline the July 17 event benefitting Habitat for Humanity, and The Kyle Coulahan Band will round out the month’s schedule at the July 24 concert supporting Autism Pensacola.

The Listen Local Summer Concert Series is another great program from your Neighborhood Services department. For more information, visit facebook.com/communitymaritimepark or pensacolacommunitymaritimepark.com. More information about ARC Gateway is available at arc-gateway.org.
