Confirmed: Deputy county administrator has COVID

Chips Kirschenfeld confirmed with Inweekly that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been dealing with the virus for the past two weeks.

“Yes, it has been a rough 12 days,” wrote the deputy county administrator and natural resources director. “I would not wish it on my worst enemy.”

He added, “I think I’m finally coming out the other side and can hopefully return to work next week after symptoms subside and my doctor releases me from quarantine.

Kirschenfeld has used his recovery time to read “City of Grudges.”

“I just finished reading “City of Grudges” and thoroughly enjoyed it,” he shared. “Remembering places like Blazzues and H & O Cafe, and the fight over the proposed Maritime Park, brought back many memories. Did you really get beat up in the back of Hopjacks?”

I reminded him that Walker Holmes is a fictional character. Only the dog Big Boy was real.
