Consolidation bill passes commitee

CS/HB 1431, the Florida House bill that creates Escambia County Consolidation Study Commission to develop consolidation plan, was reported favorably out of the Military & Local Affairs Policy Committee on Friday, March 20.

The original bill has been replaced with a committee substitute, which doesn’t appear to be that different from the original. ECUA is still in the bill.

The bill has been referred to two other committees — Finance and Tax Council and the Economic and Community Affairs Policy Council.
