Ladies and Gentlemen,
We’ve all been working hard to understand the needs of the citizens of our city and county. After receiving generous support from the Citizens across the county, including rural, minority, Perdido Key, North End, and Pensacola Beach, the exploratory committee is continuing to move forward.
The state local delegation will hear our request on Dec 8th for a local bill to be passed in Tallahassee. That bill will enable the Citizens of our County to review unified government, write a county constitution to form the unified government, and hold a referendum vote to support or decline a unified government.
Escambia All for One is requesting the County Commission and City Council to pass a resolution that would support the passing of an enabling act in Tallahassee to allow the citizen of Pensacola/Escambia County the opportunity to craft a constitution and vote via referendum on Unified Government. This resolution will only include their support for the local bill.
We need your help! 1st please call or email your County Commissioner and City Council representative. 2nd please attend the following meetings to show your support of this cause. We will need public presence at the following events:
What: County Comm. of the Whole
When: TODAY Wed, Nov. 12 at 3:30pm
Where: County Commission Chambers
Why: Formal presentation/ request and first review. Must pass through committee to be approved by the Commission. We need people in attendance to show our support of this initiative.
What: City Comm. of the Whole
When: Mon, Nov. 17 at 3:15pm
Where: City Hall
Why: Formal presentation/ request and first review. Must pass through committee to be approved by the Council. We need people in attendance to show our support of this initiative.
What: County Commission Meeting
When: Thurs., Nov. 20 at 5:30pm
Where: County Commission Chambers
Why: Final Vote if passed through Comm. of the Whole. We need people in attendance to show our support of this initiative.
What: City Council Meeting
When: Thurs., Nov. 20 at 7pm
Where: City Hall
Why: Final Vote if passed through Comm. of the Whole. We need people in attendance to show our support of this initiative.
