The appointment was announced by NLC President Mayor Victoria Woodards of Tacoma, Washington.
“I am honored to be appointed to the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee. Having spent the majority of my professional career engaged in public safety, I have experienced firsthand the importance and necessity of having local voices heard on the national stage. While all communities are dealing with crime, fire prevention, natural disasters and homeland security, each community is unique in their approach to and the impacts of these issues. My hope is to have the opportunity to bring the voice of Pensacola and Escambia County to the committee to further the endeavors of Public Safety and Crime Prevention nationwide.” Council President Delarian Wiggins
