Council president calls special meeting on Studer leases

Terhaar
The city of Pensacola has notified the media that Council President Andy Terhaar has called for a special meeting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 to consider the proposed leases for the the Studers’ development of Community Maritime Park parcels 3, 6 and 9.

He is also proposing a resolution that will express the council’s conceptual support for the publicly described plans and remove the parcels from the market for 60 days while the city’s lawyers work out details.

I appreciate Councilman Terhaar’s initiative. The resolution is the council expressing its support for the developments. The ball is still in the mayor’s court to complete the leases.

If the resolution is passed, the council is letting CBRE know that parcels 3, 6 and 9 are off the market for the next 60 days.

The lease templates have already been created for the Maritime Place and Beck buildings. The new leases shouldn’t be that difficult to draft, but apparently the mayor’s office couldn’t do it over the four weeks since the council workshop and needs another 60 days.
