Council to consider banning private emails for official business

email
Besides want to discuss the termination of the CBRE’s listing agreement with the CBRE, Councilman Charles Bare also wants the council to discuss banning the use of private email accounts for city business by city officials.

The private email accounts have been a hot topic for the federal government and Gov. Rick Scott. On March 19, Inweekly asked City COO Tamara Fountain: “What is Mayor Hayward’s position of email? We have public records from 2013 that showed he used a private email account for city business. Is he still using personal email for city business?”

Fountain replied, “I will ask him for a statement when he gets in.”

We never heard back from the mayor’s office.

This could make for a very interesting council debate.
