Council to discuss removal of CMPA board members

The Pensacola City Council has a long day next Monday. They will hold a Community Redevelopment Agency meeting, Agenda Review and a workshop on the report that was given to them over six months ago by its task force that made recommendations on how the city should help its homeless population.

The Agenda Review meeting has an legislative action item sponsored by Councilwoman Sherri Myers that would remove the CMPA Board of Trustees and replace them with seven council members.

In her memorandum, Myers contends the CMPA board breached its agreement with the city when it amended its bylaws to appoint some of its members without city council approval. She believes the current set up has discouraged development at the park.

This could be a very interesting discussion. CMPA 05112015-852
