Buzz: We have heard that the employee that infected the Pensacola nursing home with COVID-19 — possibly as many as 10 cases and 30 more under investigation–also worked part-time at another facility. Fortunately, the second ALF isn’t nearly as infected, according to our source. If you have a loved one in a local long-term care facility, you must call the facility. Â The media has been shut out.
The only remedy is for the nursing homes to issue press releases and tell the public how they’re treating the virus on their premises.
NorthEscambia.com reports: Seven Escambia County first responders are quarantined after responding to a medical call in Walnut Hill early Tuesday morning. All are quarantined due to suspected COVID-19 exposure.  Read more.   The county also told NorthEscambia.com that EMS has two employees in self-quarantine – another revelation.
This report comes a day after County Administrator Janice Gilley said that it was mandatory that all firefighters were masks.
Pizzas Donated: Domino’s locally-owned stores throughout the Greater Mobile-Pensacola area will donate 7,000 pizzas within their local communities, starting this week.
“We realize that there is a great deal of hardship and uncertainty at this time,†said Jeff May, a Pensacola-area Domino’s franchisee. “Domino’s wants to do whatever it can to help, and that means spreading a little bit of joy through pizza.â€
About 35 Domino’s stores throughout the Greater Mobile-Pensacola area will each donate 200 pizzas so that hospitals and medical centers, school kids and their families, health departments, grocery store workers, and others in need can enjoy a pizza.
“We want to show how much we appreciate and support those who are in need of a hot meal, and those who are on the frontline, working to save lives,†said May. “We hope that this simple act will bring a small sense of normalcy and a smile to their faces.â€
