Last night, WEAR TV 3 posted this message on Twitter:

“A MESSAGE TO CHANNEL 3 VIEWERS: Two WEAR employees have tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we have suspended production in our newsroom for the next several days. We will be working with our sister station WPMI in Mobile to bring you coverage.”

This news comes after the Pensacola News Journal has notified its reporters that they will be furloughed for week in April. The furloughs will be staggered but will still impact the daily’s newsroom.

Inweekly will try to fill the gap — with masks on, of course. We’re still printing and have offered subscriptions. The readership of the blog has tripled over the past 30 days.
