COVID cases exploding in Panhandle, Esc. 157, SR 67, Okal. 50

Florida has another 9,488 COVID cases – positivity rate 14.8, fourth consecutive 14%+ day.

Escambia County has 158 new cases – 136 Florida residents, one tied to local nursing home, median age 39 and positivity rate of 11.5% – eighth consecutive day with 10%+ positivity. The county also had one more death – now ytd 46 – and 3 more hospitalizations – now ytd 101 per FDOH.

Santa Rosa has 67 new cases – all are Florida residents, four tied to local nursing homes, median age 30 and positivity rate of 14.6% – four of the past five days have had 14%+ positivity.

Okaloosa has 50 new cases – all Florida residents, 29 tied to local nursing homes, median age 42 and positivity rate of 6.9%.

As of 10 a.m., Escambia County has five ICU beds available – 4.24%.
