Six Northwest Florida nonprofits will share $60,000 in employee-funded grants from Cox Communications, with each organization receiving a $10,000 Cox Charities Community Investment Grant to support programs serving local youth.
- Cox employees voted on the winning organizations after nonprofits submitted applications earlier this year. The grants focus on Cox Charities’ core priorities: youth innovation through STEAM programs, conservation and sustainability, and equal opportunity.
The 2025 Recipients
- A Bed 4 Me Foundation, Inc. — Will provide safe beds to 76 children in Okaloosa and Walton counties, supporting health, well-being, and school readiness.
- Children in Crisis, Inc. — Will run an eight-week STEAM summer program serving 60–75 children in out-of-home care, using hands-on, project-based LEGO Education kits.
- Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) — Will keep Science Saturdays free and waive summer robotics camp fees for students from lower-income families, expanding access to hands-on STEM programming.
- Heart of the Youth Foundation — Will support a LEGO STEAM Summer Experience serving approximately 120 students in coding, engineering, and creative problem-solving.
- Nokuse Education, Inc. — Will upgrade technology and outdoor learning spaces at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center, expanding STEM engagement for more than 6,500 annual students and visitors.
- Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation — Will provide hands-on watershed stewardship and environmental education for approximately 1,000 elementary students, building STEM skills and conservation awareness.

About Cox Charities
Cox Charities is a charitable initiative of Cox Communications, fully funded by employees and business partners. The funds are awarded annually as Community Investment Grants to organizations aligned with youth innovation, conservation, and equal opportunity.
- The Gulf Coast grants are part of a broader $600,000 investment being distributed to 56 grant recipients across Cox’s East Region.
