Craft Beer Festival This Weekend

Press Release:
Despite international spellings and a wide variety of tastes and styles, beer-lovers from across Northwest Florida are in for a treat on November 17th at the Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.  From 1 p.m .- 5 p.m., over 150 craft beers will be available for adults 21 and older to sample on the stadium concourse.  Specialty and micro-brewed beers from dozens of breweries will be on tap including brews from Full Sail, Anchor, Pensacola Bay, Dogfish, Blue Point, McGuire’s, and Red Brick, among others.  All proceeds from the Beer Festival will benefit the First Tee Foundation, which helps to bring the sport of golf to underprivileged children in the Escambia-Santa Rosa area.

Participants will receive a free tasting stein upon entry to the festival, and beers will be available for unlimited tasting.  Tickets are $35 for regular admission, or $100 for VIP seating at the Hancock Bank club.  Only a limited number of tickets will be sold for the Beer Festival, so interested tasters are encouraged to purchase tickets now at the Blue Wahoo box office.

All participants will also be treated to the first annual Air Force – Navy exhibition softball game, played at the Stadium that afternoon.  The competition will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which assists wounded soldiers and advocates for their needs.  In addition, SEC football games will be shown on the video board and concession tv monitors around the stadium, and a Mopar Car show will be on exhibit just outside the stadium gates.

Shelley Yates, the Blue Wahoos’ special event coordinator, said that the Craft Beer Festival and the Air Force-Navy softball game were part of a whole slate of activities offered to the public as part of a delayed “grand opening” of the Maritime Park and Bayfront Stadium.

“If you like softball, supporting a good cause, muscle cars, beer, good music, and SEC football, there’s something for you at the Bayfront Stadium on November 17th,” said Yates.  “There’s a whole lineup of fun at the stadium that day, and we hope everyone will come out and enjoy their stadium and park.  With dozens of beers to sample, your favorite armed forces softball team to cheer on, SEC football on the big screen, great music including the Charlie Daniels Band that evening, and a muscle car show – there’s something for everyone,” said Yates.
