Press Release: Yes, it’s that time of year again. School bells will soon sound, breaking the silence of summer break. There are too many smiling and eager students in our community who will not have the necessary supplies to begin their school year. The cost of purchasing items like backpacks, pencils, paper, glue and notebooks can be overwhelming for a family that is struggling with the basic necessities. For 12 years, Cram the Van, sponsored by WEAR TV3 ,the Sandy Sansing Dealerships and United Way of Santa Rosa County, has provided school supplies for our children in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
YOU can help by placing your school supply donations in designated boxes at local businesses including WEAR ABC 3, the Sandy Sansing Dealerships, United Way of Santa Rosa County and any Walgreens or Walmart store. For a full list of needed supplies visit www.weartv.com. If you would like to make a monetary donation or donate a gift card, call 456-3333 in Escambia County and 623-4507 in Santa Rosa County. The Cram the Van campaign will end August 16.
