The first six months of 2011 show an improvement in crime stats over the same period last year, according to a report from Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Murders, Forcible Sex Offenses, Robberies and Aggravated Assaults are all down. Total crimes against persons were down from 1,034 last year to 810 for 2011.
Property crimes show a jump in Larceny Theft (from 3,535 to 3,760), but Burglaries and Car thefts are down.
Adult arrests have gone from 6,378 to 6,417. Juvenile arrests have decreased from 899 to 624.
