Cruiserweight’s Farewell Tour plays The Ready Room

Press Release

Austin, TX’s Cruiserweight have called Pensacola a second home for nearly a decade now. The band has brought their female fronted pop-rock sound to The Gutter Lounge, The Handlebar, The American Legion Hall, End of The Line Cafe, Sluggos, Creative Instinct’s Warehouse etc… and numerous mainstage festival appearances (Springfest, Seville and IN Weekly’s Rocktoberfest, Phoenixfest etc…). Handclaps, dance contests, waffle chants… all peppering one of the catchiest and most charismatic live bands around! Over the years, the band has rocked numerous headlining slots (their last CD release show here drew over 400 people) and also shared the stage in Pensacola with everyone from The Doobie Brothers to Hot Water Music. Cruiserweight were voted “Favorite Regional Artist” by the readers of Independent News Weekly in 2006 and their tongue in cheek video for their cover of Tom Petty’s “American Girl” held the number one spot for 3 weeks on the (now) world famous UNCHARTED ZONE in 2008.

Sadly, This show will mark a FAREWELL to Cruiserweight. After 11 years. This is one of only TWO farewell shows for the band (one here in Pensacola and one in Austin the weekend before). Don’t miss your chance to catch their last show!
