Story: Escambia County paid the GrayRobinson law firm $49,132.27 to defend Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Robert Bender and his office against a lawsuit filed by Bruce Childers, Pam’s husband who tried to force his way on to the August primary ballot.
- Bruce Childers failed to qualify to run against Bender because Pam failed to help him file his Form 6, which would have revealed the family’s finances.
Dig Deeper: Of course, Bruce Childers thinks the county should not have hired GrayRobinson.
According to the postal newspaper, Bruce said, “Here were several mistakes made by his staff, and he could easily have said, ‘Hey, look, if you just bring this in today, we’ll put you down as qualified,’ but he chose not to do that. Instead, he chose to go get some high-priced lawyer to keep me off the ballot so he’d have no opposition.”
Gizmo is offering to double bets** if the PNJ does another article before July 31.
