Escambia Schools Lead the State
…in books being banned.
Of the roughly 1,100 complaints recorded in Florida since July 2022, more than 700 came from two counties — Escambia in the western Panhandle and Clay near Jacksonville. Together the two districts make up less than 3% of the state’s total public school enrollment.
About 600 of the complaints came from two people — a Clay County dad and in Escambia County, Northview High teacher Vicky Baggett.

De Luna Coffee Honored
Last Friday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody gave her Back the Blue Award to Pensacola-based De Luna Coffee International for “showing extraordinary support of law enforcement.”
Earlier this month, De Luna announced its High Noon: Lawman’s Blend. For each bag sold, the coffee company donates a dollar portion to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit that supports the deputies and community engagement efforts of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement officers work grueling schedules to keep us safe. While we are sleeping, officers are patrolling the streets, monitoring traffic, and keeping watch over our communities. During these long nights and early mornings, coffee can be crucial—and I think it’s fitting that a local coffee company stepped up to help law enforcement.
As Florida’s Attorney General and the wife of a law enforcement officer, it warms my heart to see this local coffee business take the initiative in working with their local law enforcement organizations to support the hard-working men and women who keep us safe and their families.
