The Republican Party of Florida’s executive committee met this weekend and approved a motion to fire its chair, Christian Ziegler, at its next regular meeting on Jan 6.
Why? Since Oct. 4, the Sarasota Police have have investigate rape allegations against Ziegler, after he was accused of an alleged sexual assault by a woman who had been romantically involved with Ziegler and his wife, Bridget Ziegler – who co-founded Moms for Liberty.
Christian Ziegler has called the sexual-assault allegations “false” and said the encounter was consensual, while rejecting calls to exit the party chairmanship.
Dig Deeper: The executive committee cut Ziegler’s salary from $120K to $1, and transferred all authority that comes with the chairmanship to vice chair Evan Power.
