The Wall Street Journal reports that Rep. Matt Gaetz taunted former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on the GOP convention floor yesterday.
- Gaetz led the coup that cost McCarthy his speakership.
- McCarthy’s PAC is running Aaron Dimmock against Gaetz with some brutal attacks about Gaetz’s relationship with Joel Greenberg, the former Seminole Countytax collector who pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges.
Gaetz approached McCarthy: “What night are you speaking? Are you speaking tonight?”
After a McCarthy aide tried to keep Gaetz back, the Florida Panhandle congressman pressed: “If you took that stage, you would get booed off of it! You would get booed off the stage.”
