Taco Tuesday Victory
Taco John’s will abandon its longtime trademark registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the “Taco Tuesday” trademark after Taco Bell fought to free it.
Why this matters: Taco John’s owned the Taco Tuesday registration in 49 states. A business called Gregory’s owns it in New Jersey.
Restaurants across the country can now use the term to promote Tuesday specials without fear of cease-and-desist letters.
