Upward Intuition

The nonprofit started by Jon Shell released a video yesterday announcing its refreshed vision. Upward Intituion led the initiative to build the Blake Doyle Skatepark that opened this spring.

Why this matters: Shell said, “We are eagerly looking forward to future collaborations and are confident that your continued support will help us foster a stronger community around the skatepark.”

Dig Deeper: Upward Intuition also sent this recap video of its Opening Day event.

“We believe that this event has left a profound impression in our community and has laid a solid foundation for future events at the Blake Doyle Skatepark,” said Shell. “We are truly grateful to you for believing in our cause and lending your support.”

Taco Tuesday Victory

Taco John’s will abandon its longtime trademark registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the “Taco Tuesday” trademark after Taco Bell fought to free it.

Why this matters: Taco John’s owned the Taco Tuesday registration in 49 states. A business called Gregory’s owns it in New Jersey.

Restaurants across the country can now use the term to promote Tuesday specials without fear of cease-and-desist letters.
