State Rep. Michelle Salzman continues to receive campaign contributions for her re-election campaign, both for her campaign account and her political action committee, the Committee to Protect Northwest Florida.
- For this election cycle, her campaign has collected $183,642 through Oct. 18 and spent $144,756 in cash while expended another $13,155 in the other category. Her opponent, Franscine Mathis, has received $7,731, spent $6,247 and had $150 in other expenditures.
For most candidates, the substantial edge in campaign funds would be enough to handily win a Florida House race for any incumbent. But Salzman also has the PAC cash machine.
- Since its formation in September 2020, the Committee to Protect Northwest Florida has raised $555,086 and spent $467,332 in cash and $88,118.75. Since January 2023, the PAC has spent $332,302 in cash and $84,536 in other.

According to her annual financial disclosure form, the state lawmaker has only $50,408 in personal income, which includes her $27,523 salary as a state representative. She has $7,800 in her household checking account. Yet, she flies first class and stays in five-star hotels. It must be nice to be the “People’s Conservative.”
